The Cider Creek Conundrum

Act 1. Sc 1.

Location Cider Creek Bakery:

The room is half-filled with patrons…it is just before lunch.

Three tables have been moved together so they can accommodate knitters.

Seven women sit knitting and chatting over cakes and salads.

Act 1. Sc 2.

Janice enters quietly.

She hears her name…

Purl Pat is speaking…

Janice’s ears prick up…

Purl Pat is talking to Tension Tracy:

‘Did you know that Janice voted for Obama?”

“Oh my” — Tracy

“Well, she wouldn’t know a lot about how it is here… she’s Australian.”

Janice slinks behind the pastry freezer…

“I suspect she’s not too religious either.” quipped Stockinet Sally.

“A bad combination,” mused Fair Isle Faith…

“I heard her say she supported Obama Care,” said Purl Pat, through her pulled pork sandwich.

“Oh, that’s too much,” spat Crochet Cathy — I don’t pay taxes to support losers.

Act 1 Sc 111: Janice emerges from the pastry hideout, unable to take anymore…

The group looks up, they see her…

“Well, hello there, we didn’t think you were coming. It’s so lovely to see you,” simpered sycophant Sue.

The End.
